Underbite

Common dental problems include an underbite. An underbite occurs when the lower jaw juts out past the upper jaw, causing the upper front teeth to sit inside the lower front teeth. This can impair proper jaw development and cause major bite problems.

Crossbite

A crossbite can negatively impact your dental health.Crossbite occurs when the upper teeth, particularly in the back of the mouth, sit outside the upper teeth. Untreated, crossbite can impair jaw development and cause tooth stratification, jeopardizing the health and function of the teeth. Often, patients with crossbite move their lower jaw forward or to the side when closing the mouth.

Upper Front Teeth Protrusion

Upper front tooth protrusion is a common orthodontic problem. This problem is similar to overbite, but instead of the jaw, it's only the front teeth that jut forward too far. This can impact bite function and the appearance of the smile, and it also puts the teeth at an increased risk of trauma.

Overbite

Overbite is the opposite of an underbite, characterized by the upper jaw extending too far forward past the lower jaw. In extreme cases, the lower front teeth may bite into the roof of the mouth. Overbite affects both the function and appearance of the smile.

Crowding

Crowding is a common orthodontic problem.Crowding is among the most common orthodontic problems, forming when there's not enough room in the jaw to fit all the teeth. Crowding impacts the appearance of your smile and also makes it harder to keep your teeth clean, jeopardizing the health of your teeth in the long-term.

Spacing

Spacing occurs when there is excessive room in the mouth.Spacing is the opposite of crowding, occurring when there's too much room in the jaws. Spacing may be a cosmetic issue or may affect the function of the teeth.

Openbite

Openbite affects proper chewing techniques.Openbite is a malocclusion where the upper and lower front teeth don't meet when the mouth is closed, leaving an opening in the smile. Openbite can be caused by certain habits like tongue thrusting or prolonged tongue thrusting, and it can impair chewing, speaking, and the look of your smile. The best way to correct open bite is through early orthodontic evaluation.

Dental Midlines not Matched

Dental Midlines that do not match affect the jaw function. In this condition, the back bite doesn't line up properly. This can impair jaw development and hinder normal bite function, putting the teeth and jaws at risk.
